Getting started
Takumion is a parametric modeller. You draw 2D sketches, turn them into 3D features, and every step stays editable in the timeline.
Your first part in five steps
- Open the editor and create a project.
- Press S to create a sketch, then pick the XY plane.
- Draw a rectangle with R, and size it with D (Dimension).
- Finish the sketch, press E for Extrude, pick the profile and drag the arrow.
- Press F for Fillet, pick the top edges and type a radius.
If you have used Fusion, most commands, keys and dialogs work the way you expect.

Sketching
A sketch sits on a plane or a flat face. Closed loops become profiles you can extrude, revolve, sweep or loft.
Trim T, Offset O, Mirror I, Project P, plus Extend, Break, Fillet, patterns, Move/Copy and Scale. Press X to turn a curve into construction geometry.
A profile shaded in the viewport is closed and ready to use. A loop inside another loop is a hole and a profile of its own.
Constraints and dimensions
Constraints fix how curves relate. Dimensions fix their sizes. When nothing can move any more, the sketch is fully constrained.
Press D, click a curve or two, and type a value. Values can be expressions and named parameters, such as width / 2.
Solid features
Every feature that adds material asks what to do with the bodies it touches: New body, Join, Cut or Intersect. It picks one for you from where the shape goes.
Timeline and parameters
The timeline at the bottom lists every feature in the order you made it. Drag the marker back to see the model as it was, then edit an earlier step. Everything after it rebuilds.
Name a value once and use it anywhere a number goes. Change it, and every sketch and feature that uses it updates.
Press Ctrl B to recompute the whole model.
Import and export
Export with Ctrl Alt E. Save with Ctrl S.
Scripting
Scripts drive the model through the same API the editor uses. They run sandboxed, and each call lands in the timeline like a feature you made by hand.
await cad.parameters.define('height', '12');
const sketch = await cad.sketches.create({plane: 'XY'});
await sketch.rectangle({from: [0, 0], to: [40, 25]});
const [profile] = sketch.profiles();
const box = await cad.features.extrude({profile, distance: 'height'});
console.log(box.name, box.body().faces().count()); // Extrude 1 6Queries narrow step by step and end in all(), unique() or count(), for example box.faces().inDirection('Z').unique() for the top face.
Scripting is part of the paid plans.
